The “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” manga series is a Japanese work by author and artist Koyoharu Gotge. Blade of Demon Destruction is the direct translation of the title. The young boy Tanjiro Kamado who becomes a demon hunter when the demons that attacked his family transform his younger sister Nezuko into a demon is the book’s protagonist. The context of the remainder of the tale is established by this incident. The manga has been collected into 21 volumes as of July 2020; it was initially released in February 2016 and continues to be published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine until May 2020. The English-language manga is published by Viz Media, although Shueisha also makes it available on their Manga Plus platform in Spanish and English at the same time as the Japanese edition.

Anime based on the original manga will air from April 2019 to September 2019 and is being made by Ufotable. The existence of a feature film sequel, set to hit theaters in October 2020, was announced during the showing of the last episode of the television series.

Tale of the Demon Slayer
